What We’re Looking For
- OD degree + NC state license (or eligibility)
- Minimum 6 months private practice experience
- Strong communication, diagnostic, and patient care skills
- Comfort with autonomy and commitment to team goals
- Start date before December 2025 (relocation to Asheville required)

About the Role:
We’re looking for a high-performing Optical Sales & Eyewear Consultant to join our growing, independent optometry practice. In this role, you’ll combine technical precision with strong sales skills and exceptional customer service to guide patients through the eyewear selection process and fulfill their prescription needs with accuracy and style.
If you’re passionate about fashion, have a knack for connecting with people, and love turning technical product knowledge into real-world solutions — we want to meet you.
Experience Preferred: Optical / Sales & Customer Service
What You’ll Do:
- Drive sales by helping patients select eyewear that fits both their prescriptions and personal style
- Explain frame and lens options clearly and confidently, with an emphasis on education and value
- Provide measurements on every glasses order to ensure precision vision
- Process and verify eyewear orders accurately
- Perform adjustments, fittings, and minor repairs
- Collaborate with optometrists and team members to ensure a seamless patient experience
- Maintain visual merchandising and manage inventory

- Detail-oriented with technical aptitude (optical experience is a plus)

About Our Founder:
Dr. Larry Golson is passionate about helping people enjoy life through better eye health and vision correction. While studying at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, he joined three SVOSH service trips to Costa Rica and Bolivia, where he provided vision exams in Spanish and distributed donated eyeglasses. He also volunteered for the Special Olympics in Atlanta and continues to offer free eye exams through the Lions Club and Prevent Blindness North Carolina.
Dr. Golson earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Georgia in 1998 and his Doctor of Optometry in 2002. During his final year, he was selected to help instruct third-year students and completed internships focusing on ocular disease in Colorado Springs and Atlanta. After working in Atlanta, he moved to Asheville in 2006 to open his own practice and enjoy the beauty of Western North Carolina.
