Dr. Flores

Dr. Flores was born and raised in downtown Austin, Texas. He earned his
undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. While at UC Berkeley, Dr. Flores was elected to serve as a student delegate representing the optometry student body for two years and was selected to sit on the admissions committee, helping review and choose future optometry candidates.

Dr. Flores joined the U.S. Army Reserves in 2014 and transitioned to active duty in
2017, where he helped manage the optometry clinic at Bayne-Jones Army
Community Hospital at Fort Polk. In 2021, he returned to private practice in Texas
and later relocated to Asheville in November 2025 to join the team at Envision
Eyecare.

Having lived and practiced in a variety of locations across the country, Dr. Flores is excited to put down roots and get to know the Asheville community. He takes pride in truly listening to his patients and creating personalized treatment plans that fit each individual’s work, hobbies, and lifestyle.

Dr. Flores is married to Sunny, and together they have one daughter, Ixchel. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, biking, playing disc golf, and
exploring everything Western North Carolina has to offer. He looks forward to
serving and supporting the Asheville community through exceptional eye care.
