A Message from Dr. Golson: Introducing our Newest OD at Envision Eyecare!
Dear Community,
Before planning our recent move to a larger space, we knew we wanted to grow intentionally with people who align with our values and vision (pun intended). I’m thrilled to share that the search for the right optometrist is over, and the future of Envision has never looked brighter.
Please join me in welcoming Dr. Jennifer Scurlock (AKA Dr. J) to the Envision team!
Dr. J brings over a decade of clinical experience, a sharp clinical acumen, and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. From our first meeting, it was clear she was a natural fit, not just in how she practices, but in how she connects.
Originally from Tampa Bay, Dr. J most recently called Philadelphia home, where her wife’s family is from. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2014. Her journey into optometry is personal. Having faced vision and eye health challenges herself, she knows firsthand how powerful great care can be. That experience fuels her passion to help others see clearly and feel truly seen.
What makes this moment especially meaningful is how beautifully Dr. J embodies the heart of our practice. At Envision, we’re about relationships built on trust, compassion, and personalized care. She lives that every day.
As we take this exciting step, I want you to know I’ll be stepping away from day-to-day patient care but will remain fully engaged in the practice as owner by supporting our team, guiding big-picture decisions, and ensuring that Envision stays true to the core values that have shaped who we are.
I’m thrilled to welcome Dr. J as Envision continues serving the greater Asheville community and beyond with integrity, compassion, and innovation. In the weeks to come, you’ll be seeing more of Dr. J in the office, on our website, and through our social media channels. I hope you’ll join me in giving her the warm welcome she so richly deserves. I can’t wait for you to meet her!
